You seem to be winning your bet

The samples do sound a bit strange and unrelated, but it makes sense if this was a bet. In which case, great job at improvising with this.

Maybe you could remake this sometime with your own choice of samples, make it sound even better. I would suggest some less harsh-sounding synths, along with a solid bassline. The drums don't need any work, they're awesome already.

Great job, keep up the good work!

0o0o0o0o Now a remake isn't a bad idea at all. I didn't expect this song to get such a high rating with these samples. I will definitely consider remaking this track. As for the bet, it is over after 20 votes, so as long as I don't get zer0bombed, I think I'm in the clear. Thanks for a great review.

Sounds awesome

I love the gentle strings paired with the voice, it makes it feel really relaxed yet mysterious. This sounds like it could be a track in a movie.

It sounds a little too quiet at some points. I think it could use some more harmony parts. Maybe a bass string to keep the mood going, or emphasize certain sections. Never underestimate the bass.

Awesome job, keep it up!

Sounds retro

Great full orchestra feel on this one, albeit a synth one. It does have a certain, retro appeal to it. Again, I have to ask about the title.

Drums near the beginning sound like static? I thought it was a rendering glitch at first... The piece also gets a bit too loud, it sounds like it got clipped during composition. I've found that composing with your volume higher than you normally have it helps with that.

Another sweet submission, and looking forward to more.

Good stuff

Awesome techno beat here. I really like the percussive bass near the beginning, a staple of any good rave. The drums are also really good, you got me head-bouncing with this one.

This piece sounds really 'full'. You have an instrument in every section (melody, bass, mid-bass, etc.), which I really like. To just be able to put in my earphones and feel like there's an orchestra around me is always great.

5 and faved, keep it up!

Thank you, all of these reviews have given me embarrassingly big grins on my face.

Decent remix

I never much cared for the song myself, but you do a good job of playing with the melody. It's kind of repetitive, but I recall the actual song being that way as well.

I feel that there's a lot more variation that could be used here. Maybe toss up the main line a little, add some of your own style to it. It tends to sort of drag on after 3 minutes of listening to the same 3-second jingle.

Good job with this, and keep it up!

not sure what you mean cuz it changes up quite a bit and the main line plays alot

Loud and active

Perfect synths for a heavily electronic sound. I could totally see people raving to this. Can get a bit loud at points, but that's kind of the idea, isn't it?

The rapid supporting synth here is good (always gives me trouble), as well as a powerful drumline that moves the piece along. At certain points, the parts all blend into each other, meaning whatever variation in harmony could be there is not. It could be, like at 0:39, that the main melody is too loud or too harsh, and is drowning out the supporting parts. I'm a harmony guy, myself.

A little variation goes a long way. Keep working on it!

Very chaotic

Really creepy and ominous, like the final hallway before the big boss. A really dreading, forboding feel. Your instrument choice works really well to enhance it.

The drums are a bit too loud and chaotic, they drown out the rest of the instruments. I suppose that's what you were aiming for, but turn down the drums a bit. Also, it gets really repetitive, I feel that this could probably be condensed to a little over a minute.

Keep it up!

The robots are coming...

Seriously good electronic/mechanical vibe on this one. Feels like watching an army of robots advancing, or infiltrating some sort of high tech factory. Also loops really well.

The electronic sound you used here is just perfect for the mechanical feel of this piece. Maybe stick some reverb on your main synth, it kind of dies when you cut it off. You could also have some kind of electronic bassline, so that there's still some sound when everything else stops.

Great job, and keep up the good work!

Epic battle

I'm really liking the frantic pace of the piano and strings, really gives a feel of desperation to this piece. I imagine it like a plant boss in some RPG, some kind of giant, poisonous flower. Actually reminds me of the ice boss in Twilight Princess.

The guitar is awesome, but kind of overtakes the rest of the parts. You could maybe bring out the supporting parts more to reduce the contrast there. The bass drum at some points also stands out a bit too much.

Other than that, it's perfect. Awesome job on this one.

Very active

It's always good to see someone go back and improve on their work. This is a pretty good one, it doesn't get long or repetitive like most 5+ min tracks I've heard.

Synth near the beginning is a little piercing (I like to turn up my volume while reviewing), a bit high pitched for my liking. I like your drum line, it sounds really simple but it's always way harder to make a good one than anyone thinks. The rapid synth you used for the main melody gives a real sense of vitality to this piece.

All it's missing, I think, are a few more parts. It feels a little empty near the end, with only 1-2 instruments playing. I always go for the grand, orchestral feel if possible. Sounds good, but could be better with more harmony parts, IMO.

Great job on this one, keep up the good work!

ErlendHL responds:

Thank you for the feedback! In FL Studio I increased the tempo from 180 to 200 after uploading this, and it felt much better. (Maybe I should upload a Law of Disorder 2 (Revised)? I did turn up the bass volume a little too). For the piercing synth at the beginning, I actually warned about that in the #1 :P but I can't really expect that people read that description. As for the "empty" ending, I made it like this so it fits the beginning perfectly :) at least it did in FL Studio. Anyway I always appreciate reviews, helping a lot!

I use FL studio to make my music. Also toying with Game Maker, and would love to know if there is a way make my games into flash. I will respond to any and all reviews, given that they offer insight and constructive criticism.
