Feels funky

Starting out with the random voices was a bit weird, but it made a nice transition into the funky, techno style. I really like your instrument choice, they help keep the action going all the way through.

I like how the whole piece uses the same chord structure and melody line (where there is one). The introduction of new parts keeps this from being repetitive, and retains the listener's interest. Another long fade-out, but that's only my opinion.

Awesome job on this one! Death sounds are always best avoided, LOL

Everyone else seems to like the vocals, hm.. I don't know if I should keep them or not :S

Yeah, it was a pretty sweet transitions, but that's actually house, not techno :P

Thanks for teh review ;)

Very nice

A nice relaxing song, makes me feel a little sleepy listening to it. I like how you have a solid drum loop through the whole thing, and the synths fit right into the main melody line.

This is exactly how I started composing my music. Start with a basic melody and then layer more parts onto it. You have managed to avoid the repetitiveness and throw something new at the listener every few bars. The fade-out at the end is a little excessive IMO, it doesn't really have to be that long.

Great job on this one, keep it up!

Haha yeah that's definitely how I make music, actually. I'm kind of annoyed by it though, since everything always has to have a structure. It's very limiting and doesn't let me craft Final Fantasy type songs.

Thanks for the input!

Guitar doesn't quite agree

Just starting off with the soft organ and synth strings really got me feeling happy about this one. I like how the whole piece has a simple drum line throughout, with the toms kicking in to add emphasis.

The saxophones are a great touch, I really like how they harmonize together. I'm thinking the second time through with them you could throw in some synth string so it sounds more variant to the last time they played.

Got scared by the guitar at 3:52, LOL. It seems too harsh, too in-your-face for this gentle, reflective piece. Maybe just go with something softer next time.

Seriously good job on this one, and keep up the good work.

Thanks a lot with the review! About the guitar, well, the guitar I used is a model renowned for the insane amounts of treble it has. I thought it would've been pretty cool to contrast to cool, smooth atmosphere with something that would cut through the mix. It was also the first time I'd ever put live guitars on any of my electronic beat songs.

Spasmatic drummer

The main melody line seems like it belongs in a peaceful, relaxing classical piece. Your slow, gradual approach near the beginning allows for some measure of surprise once the drums kick in. The other effects kind of give it a strange yet attractive feel.

Your drums throw a heavy dose of action at an otherwise tranquil melody. They sound almost random, yet work perfectly with the other parts. The vocals in the background don't really seem to go with the music, but they work nonetheless.

Good work on this one, I enjoyed it.

Thank you for the review :D

"What you think that we think is cool"?

Not quite sure what to make of this one. You certainly have the hang of synth bass and drum loops, as well as some interesting SFX thrown in the mix. Your dedication shows through length alone, and this is actually a pretty complex piece.

The lyric, however, leaves me confused. Not sure what it means or how it ties in with the title. Also a bit repetitive overall for my taste. I'm no expert in the House genre, so maybe that's common in similar entries. I'm more of a classical/video game guy.

I can tell you definitely put some serious effort into this piece. Nice work.

I'm gettin' down to this!

Really enjoying the funky, grooving feel of this piece. I visualize several lights going off in time with each part as it comes in. Really would work as a rave track.

The synth works just right for this piece, giving it a really strong electronic feel. The drumline is also awesome in keeping the whole thing moving. The fade-out at the end is also great. I might suggest turning the cymbal down at 1:30, it kind of drowns out the other parts for a bit.

Great work on this one! Inspiration is an invisible hand that slaps you in the face when you least expect it. Whatever works, more power to you. Keep it up!

The drowning out at 1:30 is an example of sidechaining gone wrong.
I'm looking for some good mastering tutorials but they are hard to come across

Well done, could be a little better

For a live recording, this is pretty good. The lead guitar is a little too harsh for my liking, especially near the beginning. If possible, you could change it to something softer there, then work up to something heavier.

The written lyrics don't seem to meet up with the song at some point. I notice myself trying to read along and getting thrown off here and there. That and I've never been the best at interpreting lyrics, which is probably why I don't make any songs myself.

Good job, and keep working at it!

Sudden change in style

Got thrown off at 0:18, expecting this to be sort of a classical piece, foolishly not looking at the genre. Very impressive at the beginning, I like whatever that instrument is.

I'm really liking the bass synth chords starting at 0:35. I could really go for some cymbal the second time the bass chords play at 0:52, probably an overall "step-up" to the drum line, it seems a little slow.

Early stages, you have a good idea here. Keep working on it, I'm sure it'll be great.

DjAbbic responds:

Heh, it's just a tuned piano with reverb, but I'm gonna add to it, as it doesn't sound very powerful at the moment. I might put some cymbals in there, just trying not to overuse them :P

Thanks for the review :)

I use FL studio to make my music. Also toying with Game Maker, and would love to know if there is a way make my games into flash. I will respond to any and all reviews, given that they offer insight and constructive criticism.
